Alloy 825 plate has a lot of molybdenum and copper in it, which makes the alloy resistant to acids and reducing agents because it has so much of both. Oxidizing resistance: Chromium can stand up to things like nitrates, oxidising salts, and solutions of nitric acid. It is very resistant to corrosion by both phosphoric and sulphuric acids, and it is often the most cost-effective alloy for use in sulphuric acid service because it is so cheap.
A plate made of inconel 825 can be used in pressure vessels that can be used at temperatures up to 525°C. People usually don't use it at temperatures where creep-rupture properties would be important. At temperatures above about 540°C, brittle phases may form, so it's usually not used there.
Alloy 825 sheet is very resistant to corrosion. A lot of things can happen to it, but it can stand up to general corrosion, intergranular corrosion, pitting & crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in both reducing and oxidising conditions. Because it is so easy to work with, it can be hot or cold. Use it in phosphoric and sulphuric acids, sulphur-rich flue gases, oil wells, sour gas, and sea water.
If you want to do hot work on ASTM B424 UNS N08825, you should do it in the range of 870 – 1180°C and finish it in the range of 870 – 980°C. It's important to stabilise and anneal parts that have been hot worked before they can be put to good use.
When ASME SB 424 UNS N08825 is stabilised annealed at 940°C, it gets the softest structure and is easy to machine.
